Asbestos Ceiling Tiles
and Artex Examples
|
This asbestolux tile was
discovered during a type 3 asbestos
survey on a 1970's office in the West
Midlands during August 2004.
Not all tiles come as clearly
marked as this one and therefore older
tiles should be tested for the presence
of asbestos.

Both ceiling tiles in this
picture were tested and found to contain
asbestos.
They were found during a type 3
asbestos survey in laboratory premises in
West Bromwich, West Midlands in September
2004.
The building was due for
demolition, but undisturbed, the tiles
presented no immediate risk to
health.

Beneath the suspended ceiling,
this supporting column was
plastered.
Inspection above the suspended
ceiling (picture) revealed a previous
Artex coating which was tested and found
to contain asbestos.
Old Artex often contained
asbestos - this must only be removed by
specialist contractors - it must NOT be
sanded under any
circumstances.

Remember, it is now a legal requirement for all
commercial premises to maintain an asbestos management
plan.
You have a duty to identify where asbestos may
be present in your building, in order to safeguard the
health and safety of your employees, visitors and
contractors.
This is not optional. For assistance with any
aspect of management or removal of asbestos, please call
us using the numbers given at the top of each
page.
